Ethnographies.

Leave it to our team to unearth what exactly makes someone tick. After filming an in-home IDI, we follow the respondent around as they go about their life, collecting visuals of the habits, routines, thought patterns, and activities that make them who they are.

Street intercepts.

Send us out on the street with a moderator to get questions answered by the general public. These are effective in gauging general awareness of a brand or product. We usually end up with some pretty entertaining clips. They are often used to make a case within an organization or rally the employees around a common goal.

Documentary short.

This is basically a short film (or multiple clips) exploring a specific topic of your choosing. It will include IDIs and supporting visuals to weave a beautiful narrative through your research.

About us.

Roots

Point was founded by a photo and video journalist. After a decade of working in places like North Korea, Iraq, Somalia, and Sudan, he laid his roots in Los Angeles. He applied the same documentary storytelling techniques he used in the field towards qualitative research and the results spoke for themselves. Clients found that adding video made the research more engaging, easier to share, and quicker to understand.  Now, Point has a global reach and a client list of some of the most innovative companies shaping tomorrow.

Purpose

Slideshows can put people to sleep. Written words and graphs can be dry. Video engages the viewer like no other medium can. Our goal is to give the findings life by making them easy to share and understand. Using techniques adapted from videojournalism, we film as unobtrusively as possible, never impacting the quality of the research. No exec has time to sit through hours and hours of research footage. So, working together with our clients, we deliver high quality, edited cuts of key findings known as “Point Videos”. Using our proprietary live streaming platform, we can broadcast our research live from almost anywhere in the world. Our purpose is to improve market research with video.

We take privacy and security very seriously. All our videographers must sign NDAs. Nothing we shoot is ever posted publicly. File transfers take place through Dropbox. All footage is deleted after 90 days unless otherwise requested.
